Why I Blog...

I'm just a typical gal, who has a master's degree and a true passion for being me, making a difference, proving myself, and staying optimistic. After 12 years in some amazing non-profits, I now stay home with my kids. Well, and we live abroad in Shanghai, so it takes a lot to keep groceries stocked and kids involved in activities. Really, I'm a mom with the desire to capture my life in words.

I met my husband tailgating in college and we married two years after graduation, in June 2004. By the way we met, you can imagine we are pretty fun people. Our life isn't perfect, but there's nothing that I'd change about it. It's simple, yet full of courageous happenings. Martina McBride seems to illustrate it best with I Just Call You Mine. If you haven't heard it, it's worth a listen.

In between our love for each other, we've created three amazingly vibrant children, Caden Dwight, Alayna Louise and Paisley Irene, who keep us busy experiencing life's joys. They make me laugh, cry, and scream. But I guess that is what motherhood is about. Each day I am thankful for what God has granted our family, and me as an individual.

I write to share my thoughts, capture memories, and record happenings. It's often random scribbling of what comes from my head and heart. Writing is a release for me, and it's motivating to look back and see where we've come and what's framed me to be who I am, all the while keeping the moments fresh.

Often my thoughts are about being a mother and wife, because those are my main responsibilities in life. I never have all the answers, or even the best perspective, but sharing my ideas is part of learning as I go. I hope if you're visiting, that you'll leave a comment or two, and share a little of your own insight. Thanks for checking out All the Fine Points.
