Over the years, she has changed our lives more than she'll ever know. She has taught me about the power of art, color and beauty. She has empowered me to be an individual, to stand up for myself, and to fight for what I believe. In six years, she has shown more love to those around her than any child I've ever met. She is so interested in other children, passionate about those who need a helping hand, and willing to put others needs first. She has a heart of gold, bigger than this universe, and I'm so blessed to be her mama.
So when we asked her what her birthday wish was, she didn't want the traditional skating rink, germ-filled indoor activity center, or chaotic pizza parlor. Nope, this girl wanted her closest girls with her for pedi's and ice cream.
Okay, seriously. Is she 6, or 16?
So, we did it and it was so fun! An awesome family friend at Winsomme Salon brought all five girls in, provided hot cocoa, let them choose their favorite colors, gave leg and foot massages, talked to them all about their pets, brothers, and sisters. And the biggest success... she kept patience while the three not in chairs at any given time were spunky, excited, six-year-old girls! She even let them paint each others finger nails while waiting... and let me tell you, these girls were feeling top of the world!
Afterwards, we headed to Orange Leaf for a sweat treat. What a fun, out-of-the-box birthday party for this special little girl. It wasn't about presents and candles, but all about her girls. Isn't that how it should be?
